End Of The Year Organization Tips

December 12th, 2022 by

Is “be more organized,” one of the resolutions you plan to make for 2023? If so, you’ll appreciate these stellar end of the year organization tips. They’ll help you get a head start on what will hopefully be a very organized 2023.

Tip #1: Make a List

Lists are great. They can help make sure you don’t miss anything and give you a sense of satisfaction whenever you get to cross an item off of it. Start your end of the year organization project by making a list of all the rooms in your house. Add the places within each room that will need to be organized. For example, you can add “kitchen” then add “kitchen pantry” and “junk drawer” as items that need attention.

Tip #2: Turn Your Junk Drawer Into an Every Day Drawer

Speaking of junk drawers, take this time to transform yours. Most homes have at least one drawer that is used to store an eclectic collection of items that are used regularly enough to warrant a space in an easily accessible location but not enough to have a specific home. Reframe the way you think of the drawer and call it an “Every Day Drawer” instead of a “Junk Drawer.” This will help prevent you and your family from filling it with items that you probably need to get rid of.

Tip #3: Create a Cleaning Station

Keeping your home clean will help you stay organized and vice versa. To help you stay on top of your cleaning routine next year, create a portable grab-and-go cleaning station where you can keep all of your go to cleaning supplies. Once it’s properly constructed you won’t have to search for the all-purpose cleaner, hunt down a scrub brush, or try to remember where you put the duster. It will all be in your portable cleaning station every time you’re ready to tackle your chores.

Tip #4: Create Extra Storage

If you have cluttered floors, tabletops, or dressers it may be because you don’t have enough storage space. You can use over-the-door storage solutions to give you a place to store things like shoes and hand bags. Add shelving in areas where you need to store smaller items.
